Due to desperation I was duped into buying one at the beginning of last year and it was the biggest waste of time & money ever, and almost cost me my life twice due to the lack of quality casette, derailers, shifters, tires/wheels lol, crank, well everything! Just think some idiot that is probably making less than you is puting these pieces of crap together forget things being tight adjusted & true! It's forums like this that make people think maybe it will be ok?!! No it will not, you will have an aluminum piece of #### that not even a scrapyard wants.

And little support from your LBS. Most of em' won't touch em and I was embarassed to have mine "tuned-up" there. Looking back now I can really say "you get what you pay for in a bike", and my new Trek was well worth it! Save your money! Buy something quality built and don't waste your time on any of wal-marts junk. Period.
Wow.
You have some anger issues.
As for the bike in question, as a shop owner, I would have no problem with someone bringing one of these for me to assemble it, work on it, etc. From what I've seen of the parts list, the only cheap unknown is the seatpost. It has good rims, good components, good tires, good handlebar, a Selle Italia saddle, etc. The frame is a big unknown as well, but from the pictures and video I've seen, it looks like a damn good bike for $500. It was a good bike at $1000.
