Okay, now I feel better; I'm not the only one who waits to the last minute to get out of bed and get on the road (at 0630), and then eats at work. Besides, with a 10 mile commute, one way, I would have to get up at 0500 to have time to let breakfast digest, and I would still need a snack once I got to work.
That being said, I have a stash of granola bars in my desk, and I'll have one of those and a piece of fruit (orange, banana, apple) and a cup of coffee. I usually get a glass of orange juice in me before I leave the house. If the wife or I have made some baked good, I'll stuff one or two (depending on what they are) in a rubbermaid container for the ride in.
Does anyone know how well oatmeal reheats in the microwave? I love steal cut oats (with buttermilk and brown sugar, thank you), but haven't tried making them up the night before and then nuking them at work.
