I can only half agree with this quote. I commute 100 miles per week, year round for the last two years and have been into biking for 30+ years. I love biking, I maintain all my bikes myself but I've learned to appreciate cars more and more. I ride about 7000 miles per year across all my bikes and drive a whole lot less than that. Here are my observations:
1. Bikes are relatively simple, Cars are pretty complex.
2. Even though our car can go thousands and thousands of miles without any service, I don't think any of my bikes go more than a few hundred miles without some service.
3. I still like my bikes more.
