(i think shimano moved on to that hollowtech business with 2 piece cranks and external bearings shortly after that certefied octalink). afaik iso is the certefied square taper, but tapers are somewhat interchangeable and it seems that the quality control across the board on tapers is pretty poor.



and rofl hard at that tt required business. always fun to go to the lbs and give new guys a hard time about sweet fixies (was helping a friend out at a shop get his new parts on. he said he wanted to transfer the reflectors from his old wheelset over to his new one for some reason. everyone had a good laugh telling him how many pie plates and such he would also require)
