Hi folks:
Last year I decided I wanted to purchase a more relax geometry frame as a replacement to my Giant TCR-C1. I originally started to take a look at the Giant OCR C series, then look at the Cervelo RS and Look 566 (expensive at MSRP's), to then look back into the Giant's new Defy Advanced series. I was very, very close of buying a Giant Defy Advanced 3 (Blue version), but the deal was for a full bike, I was not so thrilled by the color and I preferred to buy a frame and re-use all of my Giant components. To make the long story short, on December I found a pretty good deal for a new 2008 Giant OCR-C3 full bike at Ebay ($1100 shipped) which originally thought to part out and keep the frame, but once received it decided to re-sell it and got a buyer for $1500 locally (Puerto Rico) so "got some profit for something better". I finally decided to focus on getting a slightly used Medium size Look 566 on Ebay, but managed to buy on late December a brand new 2009 black/white with mostly Shimano 105 components for $1700 shipped so my investment on it was $1300!!
I finally decided to keep the Giant and had it converted to a flat bar with the components of the Look, but rather than installing my used DA-7800 components on the Look ended selling my DA-7800 components and upgrading to the 7900 series. Well, I has been 3 months of buying, selling and waiting and yesterday I finally got it properly fitted (Which I never did with my Giant) and so it's ready to hit the road!! Below is a picture of it, what do you think?
Regards,
Francisco
