Why does everything have to be about "paying their share?" What is wrong with roads, which we all use and which allow us to get where we need to go more quickly, regardless of mode, being subsidized by everyone? Why is it so wrong to subsidize something that is actually beneficial to everyone?
We all use electricity. If they removed the meters and charged us a flat rate, I wouldn't be to thrilled listening to the sound of my neighbour's AC running with the windows open.
