Im lucky to have one of those paved trails about half a mile from my house. Roll out the door. From that trail i ride either 6 miles to the Saturday group ride or 8 miles to the Sunday ride. During the week depending on what time i get out of work ill do a 17-25 mile ride out and back on it. So il be on the road bike about 4-5 times a week. Weekend rides are about 65-70 miles. I enjoy to ride and im not competitive. I just like to ride and keep up with the pack. On the road bike i hate driving to a ride unless its a century or destination ride thats 20+ miles away. The mountain bike i have to drive everywhere, all the good trails are an hour or so away.
