I submit, that based on the court records and statements, if the 17 year old had stopped and told the cop "Sorry, I just needed to take a pee really bad." the cop would have told him to get out of there. Then the cop would have turned back to checking on the known prostitute.
Sorry, that isn't what I was trying to suggest. And you're right if it was just a matter of the kid explaining his needing to take a leak the cop likely would have let him slide. And as you speculated possibly turning back to check on the known prostitute, but we'll never know now.

Given that we all know that some police do engage in racial profiling is it really that hard to understand alleged illegal gun or not that a member of a minority group would run from the police?
