hey guys!

I'm new to this forum and I'm in the market to buy my first road bike. Never done it before, but i'll probably be in it for the long haul! Anyways, I was wondering what's a good first bike? I don't want some used 20 year old over priced junker I see on craigslist, but at the same time, I don't want some bike over $1K either. I want something that's forgiving for beginners but something that'll last since it'll probably be a good 5-10 years before I upgrade again, so I'm kinda looking for the best bang for the buck kinda stuff. Thanks!
