There won't be much difference in price, from one brand to the next. For under $1000 you'll get an aluminum frame with entry level components. For $1200-$1300 you can get 105 components, which a lot of people would say is the "best bang for the buck" so to speak. I would suggest going to your local bike shop and getting fitted, because if you get a bike that doesn't fit you'll be uncomfortable and disappointed with whichever bike you choose.
