As for night riding, the idea intrigues me from time to time but I just can't get myself to believe that lights are enough to keep me from getting killed. I see cyclists out at night and their lights just don't look sufficient, especially the rear ones. Moreover, I just can't believe I'd be able to see the road and all it's irregularities as well. There is a club around here that rides at night. More power to them but I can't get into it.
the light he suggests WILL get you noticed. It's not like that blinky led you miss when driving home. Seriously.
Also, there's nothing like shutting OFF the light and climbing in the moonlight (with the caveat that the road isn't heavily trafficked and you can see and hear enough to know when a car is coming -- then turn on the light)
