I drove a semi for years and have over 1,000,000 miles under me and I would never give up my license for any reason. I bicycle commute 30 miles a day to work & rarely drive semi's these days but it does happen. I think it is fine to live car free if it fits into your lifestyle but that is not realistic for most people. I work in the trucking industry & own a small farm & living without a license is not possible.
Fat & Lazy hardly paint a picture of people that maintain a drivers license. A comment like that is just as foolish as saying people that ride bikes are too poor to afford a car or there drunks that have lost there license for driving intoxicated. I could not exactly pick up 30 bales of hay on a bicycle.
