Well I hardly know anything for sure, and it's been a while since I looked it up. But my recollection is, based on the research I did when I found the bike last fall, that the '86 and '87 both had this paint scheme but the rear brake position, and the fact that it was 6 spd sis, plugged this one as an '86.

[edit] OK, this is why I shouldn't trust my recollection. What I said above is accurate, except that the two years should be '88 and '89 instead of '86/'87. So my bike is a 1988. Thanks for the correction. For the record, specs are here.
