Trust me, any vibration damping that the carbon fork blades are doing get nullified pretty quickly by such a heavy steerer tube. In fact, tap a few times on the fork crown, right below the head tube and you will find that it doesn't clack the way carbon normally does. Lots of metal underneath there. Good for durability yes, but not good for doing what a carbon fork should. I felt a noticeable decrease in road buzz after changing out the fork and saving something like 300g for only $100 is good value, weight weenie or not. Also, the fork I put on is more aero but YMMV.
