63 is kinda tall for someone who's a six footer. But the rest of it:
* Most guys (except the ones with more moola than the rest of us) have one set of pedals and shoes that move from bike to bike, so whatever you buy you'll need those.
* Same with tires, unless you just happen on a bike with the tires you want to ride.
* Not sure why you'd pay $300 for a bike that needs new wheels- that would be a deal killer for me- unless you think you need some O' them fancy-schmancy racer-type wheels and the answer to that is probably not, at least not until you know whether you'll get the value from them.
* Not a brifter fan myself, nor were a zillion racers who used DT shifters before they came along, but they are easily installed and available used on eBay. All you need are the guides to bolt onto the braze-ons...presto!
