Since when has a budget ever stopped anyone on BF from getting more bike than they need?
Seriously, get the bike you're most comfortable with, fit, performance and budget.
edit: I'd be suspect of a bike shop selling a used bike that's less than perfectly tuned.
in other words make sure whatever bike you bike you buy from them is properly assembled.
