Glad you're enjoying the bike, but just as a personal observation about clipless: I've ridden the same 25-mile commute between 2500 and 3000 times since 1979, on bikes ranging from a mountain bike with knobbies to a recumbent and my Rambouillet, and pedals from BMX platforms to rat traps with toe clips and three different clipless systems. I don't keep a strict log anymore, but I did for years, and there's NO difference based on pedal types or my connection or lack of it between pedals and shoes. Tires make a big difference and the weight of the bike makes a small, somewhat inconsistent one. The pedals, none at all. There's about a 1:30 margin in my average times, depending on weather, traffic, stoplights and how i feel (my BEST time is four minutes faster, but that was a fluke). Whatever advantage clipless gives is well within that, for sure.
