I agree that the Tenax tubes are now stuff of hearsay/rumor/innuendo now. I've heard so many different versions of "why", from "rejected by bianchi" to "a way to make the Schwinn bikes not seem as great as other full SP/SL frames."

I also find it strange that the top of the line bikes at the time were "SP/SL mixes" and featured the Tretubi decal, whereas the middle models sported the Tenax decal.

I think the Tretubi models had Tange seat-stays. I wonder if the Tenax frames were all Columbus.
