that's still anecdotal evidence. from a sheer physics standpoint, i doubt the calipers are so much better engineered at the 105 level vs. tiagra that you could tell the amount of braking force. maybe psychologically you saw 105 and thought 'oh it's gotta be better,' but all dual caliper brakes operate on the same pivot motion, for the same amount of cable pull, theoretically the same amount of stopping power is generated.
