I'm a masters 45 but raced the Merced, CA Foothills road race as a regular Cat 5. The race was 48 miles over small rolling hills and no wind. I finished in the middle of the pace with an average speed of 25.6 mph. 113 racers started the race and 82 finished. So a few 5s got shelled off the back.
