When I was a kid (in the late '50s/early '60s, when Jacques Anquetil was winning the TdF, 10 years before Lance was born) we used to call it 'weaving'.
The mesomorph* kids pointed and laughed at us ectomorphs*, but we made it up the hills without stopping, eventually.
My endomorph* friend was usually silent in the discussion. I'd wait for him at the top, and then he and gravity would beat me to the bottom.
Cycling was fun -- and still is for those of us who care little about
how or
what others ride. Just
riding is a joy, and making it to the top is a bonus!
*Back then, blue jeans came in "regular", "slim", and "husky".
