When visiting Poland a couple of years ago, I went around the bike shops checking out the stock and prices. I mostly looked at components, though, rather than whole bikes. I found that the prices were about twice as high for the same components as in the US.
And, Poland is far more "Westernized" and advanced than Romania so if what you found there was expensive it will be far more rare and expensive in Romania.
Note to the OP: Take a bike you trust, take plenty of spares and NEVER let it out of your sight.
