Unfortunately, you cannot put traditional panniers on it. It will carry a ball (Basketball, soccer ball, volleyball, etc.) and has some other nifty features for a kids bike.
That is cool.
The 24" bike my 8 yr old acquired through the neighborhood recirculation process has a rack, but he can't put my pannier onto the drive side, it collides w/ the cassette. But he can carry stuff on the left side or on the top.
