if you really wanted to get fancy, you could get a newer set of 10spd camagnolo levers and reindex them to 8spd (parts are out there) they you could have the newer carbon levers and the only old part you would need is an 8/early 9 speed campagnolo rear derailleur (if you need one i have one that is in VERY nice shape for trade)
