Great ride reports. I'm getting ready to go to Maui the first week in May, almost exclusively to ride up Haleakala. Like many of you have posted, this is a "Bucket List" item for me. For those of you who have gone up recently, can you answer a couple of questions for me?

What services are available at the summit? I have heard that there's restrooms and that's it. I have heard conflicting things about a gift shop that has (at least) candy/water. I guess the bigger question is could you get to the summit with your last drink of water and be able to refill?

Sprocket Man, since you live in Hawaii, what are temperatures like on average at the beginning of May? Is it pretty hot by then or still fairly moderate?
