4 Years ago I got an OCR3- forerunner of the Defy 3- as my first road bike after 16 years of Mountain biking. 6 months later and I nearly went back. Bike wasn't impressing me on Ease of riding or handling. It was taking just as much effort to propel on the road as the MTB and handling of fast downhill curves was iffy. LBS loaned me a decent set of wheels and they transformed the bike. Got a set of CXP33 rims on 105 hubs and they kept me road riding. So much so that I went to France and climbed my first mountain on the road--Mont Ventoux.
Mind you- as soon as I got back off holiday went to the LBS and bought a far better bike. That OCR got me started and I still ride it occasionally but I now class myself as a roadie that does a bit of mountain biking.
