If you are looking for something a little less expensive, consider many of the other options that have been listed. I would add the Cannondale Synapse line. A $1200 aluminum Synapse isn't going to ride like a nicely-specced RS, but it also isn't going to hurt the wallet like one. For $50 less than an RS frameset, a Synapse Carbon 4 is a very nice build (minus the wheels). Cervélo makes a nice bike, but something like a Synapse (which has the same length headtube and overall similar geometry) is a good option if you aren't trying to build a $4500 bike. The RS is a very nice bike, but there's not witchcraft in it that gives it special powers other similar bikes can't share. As far as I can tell, most of the magic is the geometry (and the "é").
