Yes, I wear a helmet and a cycling jersey and padded shorts. I find that the helmet as some have stated in other threads gets a certain amount of respect from cagers and LEO's. For whatever reason when LEO's see me and my cycling partner in our helmets and vest at night they give us an approving look.

The jersey and padded shorts be they regular shorts or bib shorts just make the ride all that more comfortable. The jersey helps as others have said to wick away perspiration making for a more comfortable ride. And living in Florida a state that usually has a high humidity anything that helps to keep a rider cooler is a good thing.

As the weather gets cooler I'll add arm and leg warmers eventually working up to jeans, a hoodie, etc. But padded shorts and jersey underneath it all.
