Forgive the newb question here (yes, I searched for this), but I'm curious as to why, exactly, a dishing gauge is necessary? If the rim is true, how isn't flipping the wheel in a truing stand and checking with a single feeler not adequate? I'm close to ordering a truing stand, but I'm not yet convinced I need to order the dishing gauge with it. I'm eager to learn.
