How's the chainline? Pretty straight? How tight is the chain? I usually hear excess chain noise when my chain is too tight, so you may want to slide the rear wheel forward just a bit and see if you still notice the sound. When my chain is too loose I rarely hear anything... my chain just slips off when I accelerate quickly.
