How is a dishing gauge better than flipping in a truing stand? + Spoke Tension Meter
Hello,
I've been thinking about buying the tools needed to build wheels. But I'm curious as to why some people say a dishing gauge is necessary. How does it work better than simply flipping the wheel in the truing stand and checking with a single feeler, if the wheel is true? Or even faster?
Secondly, do you folks think a spoke tension meter like the Park TM-1 is necessary for building top-quality wheels? Some say that plucking the spokes is fine, but the Park book says that method can be misleading.
I want any wheel I build to be tops in durability. But I also don't want to buy stuff I don't need to achieve this end.
Cheers,
Kevin
