Houston is just over there (90mi) and while I don't want to go if I don't have to, it's just driving.
Don't know about for others, but for me it's mostly the bridges, and traffic. There's no easy way in or out, the Bay Bridge is always under construction or modification, and traffic is a nightmare. I would have to be forced to go to SF; I woudn't go there on my own volition.

Then there are the nutjobs to deal with. City folk are a funny lot.

If this SC were up for free, I still wouldn't go after it - not worth the time, trouble, or expense.
