They were expensive...I ended up paying about $70 (it's reasonably easy to find them at that price), but they're also reusable pretty much forever. They can be removed from the bars and rewrapped. I absolutely love the pair I own and plan on using the Brooks tape for another build. As for being ugly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder....I find them to be beautiful.

The honey brown tape didn't match my honey brooks saddle until I used proofide on it. I didn't know whether you were supposed to proofide the tape and I couldn't find an answer on line, eventually I just did it and am so glad I did. It really makes them more comfortable, especially in the rain. I have NEVER used tape that's more comfortable...with a set of gloves.
