Man, the Mercier Kilo WT5 is hard to beat for the price. The only drawback for the op is the fact that it's 5 sp FIXED and he/she may not be ready for that. W/rack/fender braze-ons it's perfect for moderately hilly terrain as a commuter. Since I converted my ss to fg my wife has expressed interest in a fx, but wanted gearing for hills. I don't see how the SA five speed hub is a fixed gear. Doesn't make sense. What I don't get is the specs on the frame saying it has 15.7" chainstays. Looking at the picture with 700x32c tires and the space between the tire and the seat tube it looks longer than that.
