Very good point which is why I'll get the regular Keo 2 Max rather than the carbon variety.

I thought I wouldn't like the Keo Grip pedals but they come in really handy when I commute because I'm not worried about slipping like I would with the regular models. I only walk a few feet with them and they're holding up rather well and if I do have to walk I always carry the cleat covers just in case. If you clip in cleanly then they tend not to wear as much at the tip, something I had to get used to because the first pair (which came with a set of pedals) wore out because I kept sliding it in too much.
