Pledge works great. I use it on my toolbox ever since my Snap On dealer clued me in to how he "detailed" the boxes he takes in on trade. The tool box is an automotive finish, so yeah, I guess I would wipe down my car with pledge. A side benefit to Pledge is that it works to repel dust as well. It just works.
