I have purchased several specialized bikes and have had no regrets...absolutely none. Now when I was deciding my bike purchase i rode the Kona that was at the same price point and componetry as the specialized stumpjumper and I liked the stumpy hands down. Stumpjumper is the step up from the FSR models. However, bike perferences are very personalized and you should go back in ride both, focusing on what characteristics you like on each one and then determine the priority of those characteristics...that should help you make the decision.
