Spoke length-round up or down?
Ok, So I am ready to rebuild my rear wheel, short I have to order spokes and nipples. Bike shops around here likely charge $1/spoke, so ordering WILL be cheaper.
details:
XTR M950 Rear Hub 32h
Alex Adventurer Rim (26") 32h
3x, 2.0 straight gauge (probably DT swiss) spokes.
I did all the measuring, spokes come up as 264.2mm for Left (non-drive) and 262.8 for Right (drive).
Obviously, Left side is rounded down to 264. .2mm is pretty small considering (not in MY field of work, however) but, what do I do for drive side spokes? Should I round UP to 263, or DOWN to 262? I have read a few places you shouldnt round up for drive side spokes, but to what extent?
I should probably order a dishing gague, too. Park's home mechanic version isnt very expensive, and It would be a great tool to add to my bench!
Thanks guys/gals!
