So, tell me, I also notice the giant head tube on so many bikes I see now. Why? I was looking at my local shop and this young salesman got me to ride this Trek (because I was thinking about buying it) and I made some noise about the stem being too short and too tall, or high. His reply was that things have change, it is made for better breathing and better riding position. The damn thing was up near the tip of my saddle. I did not buy that crap for a minute. I don't think what he saying is true, is it? I have ridden fine with my nose to the stem for years, and have no problem. I am thinking why change now? I also wanted to change the cogs size and he laughed when I requested a 21 large cog and suggested a 27 and a 34 small ring. WTF am I climbing, trees? A 23 was the largest I had ever used, but a 27?
