No problem, but the first is still too worried about making noise! Slowing down (stopping) is what you should have done. It's what somebody in a car would have done (or should have done). It seems fairly clear you get it (now). There is one person here who doesn't (the one who said "You handled it perfectly"). I'm trying to talk to him too!
