In your situation you can go left to the edge of the other lane , or fully into the other lane, or evasively carve right, onto the grass or sidewalk. The more it looked like he wasn't stopping the more to the left of the curb lane I'd be going. The gut yell is always a good thing. He didn't see a car and didn't feel the need to stop, even though he should have. Remember "I'm sorry I didn't see him" is a license to kill in a car. Those half waves they give you afterwards make me soooo mad, duuude you could have killed me and you just give me a wave it's all ok now? Ah no man I want you at least acknowledge what you did wrong.
