the big groups or families that manage to take up the entire width of a 15 ft wide path, walk real slow, and pay no attention to their surroundings. Argh...
This is the biggest challenge to my commute in the Spring, and, it's not only the increased foot traffic but, the additional cars/busses as well. I will typically ride on the sidewalks from 14th/Constitution to the 14th Street bridge, particularly if I'm tired and don't have the steam to keep up with traffic. This time of year though, it's much quicker/safer, actually, to be in the street-even if I have to deal with more cars. I'm glad they come here and learn about our city but, they completely forget about common courtesy in the process, those few blocks can be excrutiatingly slow.

Otherwise, the rides have been nice, Summer's coming. I switched back to my timbuk2 messenger style backpack, it's a somewhat tighter fit than my regular backpack but, it offers much better water resistence-in fact, it's water proof which is good for what might be a really wet Spring. I'm hoping pull the fenders off by May and switch to faster rolling road tires. Have to replace brake pads, seat, too.
