So then you are saying that you didn't understand my comment when I posted the statement below? I think my statements had more to do with the difference in the new bike rather than just a sloping toptube. I figured the straight blade fork which would allow me to feel as if I were further over the bars compared to the old bike with the raked fork. But the other poster made a good point, more likley the difference in handling between the old and the new bike.
If you had made some sort of sensible comment rather than posting a sarcastic reaction, I could have explained to you that I never stated it was the "sloping top tube" that made a difference but rather switching to a new bike with a totally different and new to me geometry as I posted initially.
Matter of fact, I think my initial statement made it clear that it wasn't the sloping top tube that made the difference.
Another note, if you are referring to me as "inherently bad form while climbing", that just goes to show you didn't understand my post as I stated "on the flats". If you are referring to the OP, then why not post it instead of hoping others can dig out some sort of valuable message from your sarcastic posts?
Bottom line is that neither a sloping top tube nor "straight" fork will affect the handling of the bike. The geometry of the bike may be different which would affect the handling, but not because of those things.
