Well I got some great news today...
I am graduating in 8 weeks after 5 years in college (BS Chemistry, BS Physics, minors mathamatics and biology). My parents approached me today and to make a very long story asked my what I wanted for graduation as a gift. I have been looking at this beautiful cervelo tt bike, the p2k in white for sometime. Happens at that time I was looking at TT bikes online and the cervelo was on the computer. I pointed to it and half jokingly said this. They asked the price, I said about 2100 and they said... well if that is what you want... fine. Me Happy!
I get my TT bike in 8 weeks!
Ok now since that is out of the way, there is a problem with all the TT bikes in my price range... the cranks. Most come with carbon 175 FSAs with ISIS BB's... will not exactly work. I figure with the low selling price of FSA cranks I will have a hard time getting 200 out of them and have to pay out roughly 450 for DA 10 crank and BB in 180mm...
With the crankswap and a cassette swap we are looking at 2300 dollars approximatly.
Now I have thought about building the same bike from a frameset, with LBS discounts we are talking about 2400 dollars or so with full DA (no DA brakes or cassette)... not a bad deal.
Here is the part cost. Please do not ask me about getting the DA parts for this price...
