I just did the 52-34 upgrade on a compact SRAM Force groupo and although the small-small chain length is too long, the shifting on the front was flawless. I liked the bigger front(52vs50) on the rollers we ride and need the 34 for the 16% grade on a couple hills we do on regular basis. I wish Ultegra 6700 had a 52, I would switch that one out also on my other bike. Plus with the GS rear dérailleur I think chain length could be solved. my $.02
