I have Speedplays on my 'modern' bike, and will continue to use them on whatever bike has the most
current components. I also move them to the Pogliaghi (blasphemy, I know) when I take it out on the track.
I don't know, somehow I feel more locked down using them. I've never pulled out when using them, but then
again I'm not a huge sprinter (Jon stop laughing).
I started out with clips and straps back in the day, when I began commuting in the late 70's I wore
Avocet touring shoes and could walk all day in those. I have a new pair now that I wear with
my vintage bikes for casual riding. I just wish I could find them in black and not in
the Miami Vice pastel colors I have.
I also have a pair of late Diadoras, with the adjustable cleat for more serious/longer rides, and
an antique pair of leather soled shoes with Anquentil type cleats I hardly wear any more.
