soooo have a court date tomorrow morning. i'm fighting a ticket i got during the bike blitz (aka the bike "safety" blitz). i realised belatedly (my hands are a bit full these days) that i should do some research to prepare my case. can anyone here give my quick references to cases regarding clipping-in at red lights? preferably canadian sources? i searched for track-stands, but that's not entirely relevant, since i *had* put my foot down. i moved left to allow a van to make a right hand turn, and used the momentum to mount my pedals without proceeding into the crosswalk/intersection until the light turned green.

i know i have to really be careful how i word my argument or the prosecutor is likely to jump down my throat. i'm going to try giving info only as they question me, but in case the judge doesn't immediately throw it out of cout, i ought to be prepared with some precident examples. any thoughts would be appreciated, either here or in PM. thanks.

note: i don't have a driver's licence, never been charged or testified, and didn't receive any other tickets at the time as my bike is up to code. /angel
What was the ticket for? One time I got caught running the light for the crosswalk between the Bay & Eaton's Centre, I just took it to Edward St. and they knocked a $190 red light violation down to a ~$20 lane change violation, so it's not always worth taking it all the way to court.
