In my country and in many places in Europe after 55 u get license for 5 years only, so you have to go and take the whole exam again. The exam takes like 3 hours, not the joke to get license here in the states (sorry it is the thruth). Thats the reason u odnt see old farts driving, they can't pass the psicotechnical and reflexes exam at all. This will sound stupid but i know 2 car mechanics in europe and one in my country that are between 65 and 71 and none of them can drive a car no more. But they can fix it and move them inside of the shop installations.

Exams...

- Eyes... actually u see a real eye doctor.
- Reflexes... actually u have 3 machines like video games, one measure the reaction time (not like in here that a sucker tells you when u have to stop,) the second machine have you driving and suddenly they put a pretty bright light nearby... there is another machine with a darn truck that u have to keep between the lines and finally there is another one with something like a turntable with a siizzors thing that opens and closes in every turn, u have to put a pin in the eye of the sizzors thing and fit the pin in a whole that is there. An old dude wont pass this one at all.
- Then u have to take the writing test in a computer... they ask you all the signs not 10 or 20 of them, plus first aid questions, plus some questions about mechanics and to finish like 20 more question about transit rules.
- And to finish if you have got the lucky of surviving all of the previous ones, u go for a road test. 10 or 20 minutes and in the darn streets not in a parking lot.

When u are done with all of this u can pick you DL the next week, or you have to come back to redo the failed test.

Sad for the kids anyways...
