I clean the tires daily after every ride with simple green. I take the drive train apart about once a week (two at most) and clean each gear as I sit in my chair in the garage. But I at least wash the drive train with simple green and use a micro-fiber on each cog after I rinse it off. My cassette always looks like this (and this photo was taken with about 2,000 miles on the cassette).

I'm rather OCPD about my bike. My office....now that another story.
