Mink oil isn't recommended on a Brooks saddle. It softens them up too much. As far as riding them in the rain, I just carry a plastic grocery bag and tie it over the saddle. We have a fair amount of rain here and all 3 of my bikes have Brooks saddles on them. No problems even when they occasionally get wet.
